My cervical cancer journey began in late July 2001, when after 11 years of marriage, at the age of 34, I got expecting by accident. I state “by accident” since we were “waiting to be economically secure.” In hindsight I now recognize unless you hit the lottery a lot of typical people are never truly economically secure!
I went to my Ob/Gyn for my preliminary pregnancy see as well as they did a routine Pap. I had no hint what HPV was, let alone that my life was about to change.
A few days later the physician called to state she needed to see me, my Pap came back abnormal (ASCUS), they needed to do one more test as well as there was a danger of miscarriage connected with it. On December 26, 2001 I got a phone call from the physician who told me that I had cancer as well as that she wished to see me as soon as possible. March 13, 2002 — D-day or must I state C-day? At 9:36 am, my beautiful, redheaded, miracle infant kid was provided by c-section as well as my radical hysterectomy began. Otte år senere, jeg er, banker på træ, stadig kræft gratis med en fantastisk mirakel søn. Jeg venter stadig på den anden sko for at falde, da mange kræftindivider, jeg har tilfreds med, fortalte mig, at de gør det også, men jeg lader det ikke komme i metoden til at leve mit liv til dets absolutte fulde.
Efter at mit barn blev født opdagede jeg fantastisk støtte på Internettet fra en dame ved navn Tamika Felder, der producerede Tamika & Good Friends efter sin egen kamp med livmoderhalskræft. Selvom jeg ikke tilfredsstillede hende før efter min kræftprøvning, har hun endt med at være en god ven, jeg kan henvende mig til, uanset hvad.
